Major Error is back - The Increment Kork - 22.06. @ 21:27 - 0 replies Some of you will recognize the name "Major Error", he was the team
leader of the SAS mod for the UT engine. Now he's back with a new
take on the SAS in the era of the Cold War. The game is named "The
Increment" and is looking very promising so far:
Also there is a trailer from an alpha version on YouTube which shows
the graphics of the CryEngine-based title. You can find more
information on the excellent project page containing a lot of
additional material such screenshots and videos. Be sure to check
it out!
SAS-Mod.net is moving again Kork - 18.08. @ 11:25 - 0 replies The SAS-Mod.net servers are again moving to another server
hardware. Therefore several services might not be available during
the coming few days. We do not plan on discontinuing the game
servers, even after the move.
Statistics are working again Kork - 12.01. @ 20:40 - 1 replies After we had moved the site over to new hardware, the statistics
didn't work for some time. This was caused by some periodic
services which do the statistics calculation and were forgotten to
be installed on the new machine. To date there have been around
15000 unprocessed stat records which have been merged into the
stats database within the last hour. Therefore the statistics for
January are not quite accurate. All stats processing daemons have
been started again and the stats should now be displayed properly,
including the "who is online" stat.
SAS is alive - in Canada! Kork - 07.01. @ 20:38 - 1 replies As you probably have noticed, there has not been much news around
here - which is simply caused by the fact the UT2004 is no longer a
good technical base for modding and porting to UT3 is not an option
either due to the lack of players on that platform. Therefore the
SAS development is now officially put on hold. The two game servers
at SAS-Mod.net and this website will be kept running as long as
anyone is interested in playing the game. Nevertheless, there is
also good news around:
We, the SAS development team are excited that Defence R&D
Canada - Valcartier an agency of the canadian department of defense
is using our mod "SAS - Into the Lion's Den" for experimental and
demonstration purposes inside a CAVE automatic virtual environment.
A few years ago Valcartier asked about the mod being used for this
research and we agreed. Further details, especially regarding any
future development, can not be given however, we would like to use
this opportunity to inform our community about it.

Important: Due to our agreement with
Valcartier this news may only be printed on SAS-Mod.net and
sas.jolt.co.uk. Further publications require prior negotiation with
the Canadian authorities. We kindly ask you to only link to our
news site instead of reproducing the news on your site. Thank you
very much for your understanding.
Server Move Kork - 18.09. @ 20:53 - 1 replies SAS-Mod.net's current server leaves much to be desired when it
comes to stability. Therefore we decided to move SAS-Mod.net over
to new hardware. To make sure no information gets lost, we will
turn all services of SAS-Mod.net into maintenance mode. This means
that the forum and the game servers will be unavailable. The
SAS-Mod.net teamspeak service will be discontinued and replaced by
a ventrilo service. We hope to finish the move until the coming SAS
monday.
